Welcome to week 22 of the 24-week training session for the spring 2024 Flying Pig. The schedule is set to get you to the start line of the half and full marathon on Sunday, May 5, 2024 There are plans for those who seek "to finish" or have a specific time goal in either event.
We continue doing easy group runs on Wednesdays until the week of the Flying Pig. Saturday workouts continue to be the long, weekly distance or half mile/mile repeats for the "time goal" track. Our last long run for the season is this Saturday, April 13. We will participate in the Fleet Feet 20/12 Run, as well as have a couple of our group members staff a hydration stop along the course. The 20/12 is a great dress rehearsal for the Pig weekend, and is well supported with stops, course monitors, and a start/finish line area.
Please RSVP ASAP for the Fleet Feet 20/12 at this location - https://www.fleetfeet.com/s/cincy/racing/2012/2024-rsvp

Based on distances that people are planning on cover, here are the routes and the order in which they would be done, along with start time from Sawyer Pt Park
Meet at 5:00am to run at 5:15am: 3 miles (https://www.mapmyrun.com/routes/view/5996468395/)
Meet at 5:45am to run at 6:00am: 2 miles (https://www.mapmyrun.com/routes/view/5996482198/)
Meet at 6:15am to run at 6:30am: 4 miles (https://www.mapmyrun.com/routes/view/5996477095/)
For each distance above, we will pick up people at the entrance to Sawyer Point Park where the Flying Pigs are located. just beyond the parking lot entrance
For the 12 miles or 20 miles, line up at 7:15am to be a part of the wave start beginning at 7:30am (based on our pace groups, it will probably take about 10 minutes before we start because there are over 1000 people registered)
Here is a link to all of the details (parking locations, logistics, 12 and 20 mile routes) from Fleet Feet. Please read it carefully. They are asking for a $5 donation to provide to charity. |
